Buu Ly
Born in Vietnam, Buu Ly came to live in the U.S. at a young age. He grew up in Philadelphia and got his start in the restaurant business early on, from washing dishes at Siam Cuisine to waiting tables at Susanna Foo. He would go on to own and manage fusion restaurants Fuzion, Yazmin, and Ly Michael’s. He also had a love of travel, visiting China, Vietnam, Mexico, and the Caribbean – integrating regional foods into Tazia’s recipes.
“Tazia is a culmination of the people I’ve met, the places I’ve seen, the things I enjoy — my journey,” Buu says. “Every dish has a story behind it.”

Tami Ly
Tami was born in Philadelphia to a family already immersed in the business. Her mother was the chef at Nam Phuong and later headed up the kitchen at Pho 75, two South Philly Vietnamese mainstays. Tami worked as a bartender at several restaurants in the area. While Buu oversees restaurant operations, Tami manages Tazia’s event planning and heads up the bar.
“Being here is not like a job — it’s fun and it’s friendly!” Tami says.

I had my birthday dinner at your restaurant this past Saturday & I'll have to be honest at first I wasn't so sure how the dinner would be. I was last minute with picking a restaurant, & was definetly in the mood for mexican & margaritas. But due to Drexel's graduation I was unable to get a reservation at any of the mexican restaurants in the city for a large party. But now I have to say that I'm happy we chose your restaurant. Everyone was so accomodating (even to my late arrival), the waitress was fabulous with all her input when we were doing, the food was absolutely delicious, & my drinks kept flowing! I work in Philly, & absolutely came in first thing Monday morning raving about your restaurant to all my coworkers, especially the crab stuffed raviolis (still craving them). I was just sad we couldn't stay for more drinks & Karoake but now I know where to come on my next night out!!! Thank you for making it one of the best birthday dinner celebrations! - Jasmin
